Michelle has been employed by the Federal government for 23 years, holding various positions in the financial management field. She has worked as a Budget Analyst, Accounting Manager, Financial Manager, and Budget Officer, before being promoted to her current management position.
Michelle has been the leader of Girl Scout Troop 5227 of Upper Marlboro, MD for the last eight years. Under her leadership, the girls in the troop have sponsored a baby shower for women at a Prince George’s County homeless shelter (an event which earned the Bronze award for the troop), and they coordinated and organized (twice) a golf tournament for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation to help students afflicted with ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease offset the cost to attend summer camp. The troop was able to donate $2,000 to the foundation from golf tournament proceeds. She remains very actively involved with this troop, as the last members begin their junior year of high school.
Michelle has served on the Executive Board of the Oxon Hill High School PTSA for the last two years as the Fundraising Committee Chairperson. In this role, the PTSA raised $4,000 during the 2008-2009 school year.
