Glenda King Pittman was raised in Seat Pleasant, MD and educated through the Prince George’s County Public School System. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Bennett College, Greensboro, NC and a Master’s degree in Public Administration (minor in Information Systems) from Southeastern University in Washington, DC.

Glenda began her professional career with Arlington County Department of Human Services (DHS) 25 years ago. She has held various positions from Accountant, Budget Analyst to Financial Management Bureau Chief. Recently, Glenda became Chief of Finance and Information Systems Division. She is charged with overseeing technology, financial services, budget, and records management for DHS (the largest agency in the Arlington County government).

Even though she has a very demanding career, Glenda still finds time to be an active member in PTA/PTSA holding positions such as President, Treasurer, Legislative Chairperson and delegate to the Council of Prince George’s County PTA. Glenda is also committed to mentoring young children and helping young women develop socially as well as spiritually. Currently, she is mentors young woman as part of the Cornerstone Peaceful Bible Baptist Church Mentoring Ministry. Glenda also volunteers as a mentor and tutor. She hopes to begin a second career as a consultant offering mentoring services and life skills coaching to young people ages 13-21.

Glenda is the proud parent of one son, Jarrell D. Pittman, a senior at Oxon Hill High School.
